TWO Laois men will compete at the upcoming European Transplant and Dialysis Games in Krakow, Poland next month.

Robbie Lyons from the Swan and Portarlington’s Eddie McAuliffe will represent Ireland at the games, now in its eight year.

Robbie, who has won numerous medals at previous games, will compete in the 100m, 200m and 400m sprints and the long jump. He will also take part in the 4x100m relay.

It will be Eddie’s first Transplant Games, having received a kidney transplant in 2006. He will compete in the darts, petanque and golf event.

The games will run between 16-23 August.
