MOUNTMELLICK library was host to the Europe Direct Soapbox competition, where students had their say on Brexit on Wednesday 25 October.
Participants in the Soapbox had the opportunity to share their opinions and thoughts around the topic of Brexit and the effects of Britain leaving the European Union.
Mountmellick’s Emma Comerford was this year’s U19 winner, taking home an iPad for her work.
The fifth-year student went on to compete in the All-Ireland final in Dublin on Tuesday 7 November in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham and delivered her speech on the topic Brexit: Ireland’s opportunity very well.
