MEMBERS of the Carlow Vintage and Classic Motor Club showed how much they value their friends when they got together and bought a mobility scooter for one of their long-term associates.

Joe LeBlanc from Mountmellick, Co Laois was presented with the scooter that some of his friends in the motor club had chipped in to buy after he suffered a life-changing condition during the year which left him with mobility issues. The club also presented him with a cheque for €500 so that he could buy other mobility aids, too. They made the presentation to Joe on a winter run from Kinnitty Castle in Co Offaly to The Heath, Co Laois.

The generous members always make a donation at the end of the season to a worthwhile cause, so this year they chose the Éist Cancer Support Service as their beneficiary. They presented a cheque for €500 to representatives from the centre in the Lord Bagenal Hotel, Leighlinbridge recently.
