THE million dollar question?

Was it you? Who was it? Do you know?

Well, whoever it is will receive a cool million euros if they have the winning ticket for Friday’s night’s EuroMillions – Ireland Only Raffle.

Did you by any chance stop off along the Stradbally Road, Portlaoise at Bracken’s Gala, just before the cemetery? And, while there, did you by any chance buy the Ireland Only Raffle EuroMillions ticket? If you did buy a ticket, did it have the ticket code number IGMS26203? Well, then, it could be you who has won €1 million.

Delighted store owner Kevin Bracken said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have sold the winning ticket. The word came through from the National Lottery just before we closed that night and it’s the talk of the town since. Portlaoise is absolutely buzzing. I do hope the new millionaire is a local.”

The National Lottery is urging all EuroMillions players in Laois to check their tickets to see if they have won either of these life-changing prizes.

A spokesperson said: “It’s terrific news for our EuroMillions players in Laois. It comes a few days after National Lottery research showed that Co Laois was the unluckiest county when it comes to playing EuroMillions. Since the game’s inception in 2004, five players in Laois have won top prizes in EuroMillions games totalling €26,201,529. This equates to one top prize winner in every 16,939 people in the county. Those stats will have been boosted by last night’s win for sure.

“If you are the lucky ticket holder, please be sure to sign the back of the ticket, keep it safe and contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 01 836 4444 and we will make arrangements for you to come to the winner’s room and collect your prize.”
