We’re into the 8th count in Laois-Offaly, with distribution of Peter Ormond’s (FF) 4,449 votes after his elimination. Although four seats remain to be filled, the result is a virtual foregone conclusion with no new faces in the constituency.

Seán Fleming and Barry Cowen will retain their seats, as will former SF turned Independent Carol Nolan. She performed extremely well and could possibly take the fourth seat ahead of Charlie Flanagan (FG). With a quota of 11, 571, this is the state of play at the count centre in Portlaoise:

Corcoran Kennedy, M (FG) 4917
Cowen, Barry (FF) 9698
Flanagan, Charlie (FG) 8287
Fleming, Seán (FF) 9835
Hackett, Pippa (Green) 5811
Leahy, John (Ind) 4821
Nolan, Carol (Ind) 8353
