FOR the second day in a row today, there was no increase in the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Laois.
The county’s total number of positive cases remains at 256, the same as yesterday.
Laois’s small share of total cases nationally has also reduced slightly, from 1.1% to just 1%, as a result of changes in total numbers for other counties.
The county figure relates to the most recent cases notified to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) on Thursday 21 May.
Nationally, a further 13 people suffering from Covid-19 have died, bringing the national death toll to 1,604 today.
Another 76 coronavirus cases nationwide have been confirmed, which brings the total to 24,582 since the pandemic began on 29 February.
