Mike Quirke has made two changes to the team that started against Westmeath for Saturday’s clash with Fermanagh. Laois travel to Ulster knowing they have to win if they are to have a chance of surviving in Division 2.
As well as having to beat Fermanagh, Laois need one of Cavan, Kildare and Clare to lose if they are not to be relegated.
Colm Begley come in instead of Sean O’Flynn in the half back line. The Stradbally player was due to start against Westmeath but had to pull out at the last minute having picked up an injury in the warm-up.
Like Begley, Mark Timmons was also selected to start the last game but he too succumbed to injury and was replaced by Denis Booth but the Graiguecullen player returns to the full back berth.
LAOIS TEAM: Niall Corbet; Trevor Collins, Mark Timmons, Robbie Pigott; Alan Farrell, Colm Begley, Eoin Buggie; Kieran Lillis, John O’Loughlin; Gareth Dillon, Mark Barry, Brian Byrne; Diarmuid Whelan, Evan O’Carroll, Gary Walsh.
