LAOIS can have no argument about the outcome of this LIDL All-Ireland Intermediate Ladies Football Championship second round game in Clonmel today. From early on it became fairly obvious that there would be only one winner here.
Three goals from Niamh O’Dea, Chloe Maloney and Grainne Nolan in the opening quarter left Laois facing an uphill battle. But battle they did and with Mo Nerney’s eye in from placed balls they never gave up.
But at the end of the day Clare were just two cute and experienced and ran out deserving winners.
Laois could still qualify for the All-Ireland semi-final but they must beat Kildare who the play next week if they are have a chance to advance.
