The Arts Council has granted funding to the tune of €125,000 to the Dunamaise Arts Centre in Portlaoise.

Due to COVID-19, arts centres in Laois and throughout the country have suffered financially over the past year.  This latest tranche of funding is vital to ensure that the basic infrastructure of arts centres survives these challenging times.

These centres are showing a great level of imagination and adaptability in their planning. This funding is guaranteed to support the Dunamaise Arts Centre in Portlaoise to build back better and to reach the widest possible audience.

Welcoming the announcement, Minister Seán Fleming, said: “I wish to acknowledge the great addition the Dunamaise Arts Centre has been to the arts community and all the people of Laois.  We all look forward to normal activities resuming when it is safe to do so.”
