LAOIS gardaí have arrested a disqualified driver whose road tax was out of date by 555 days.
The culprit was caught this morning by the Laois Roads Policing Unit, which was on patrol in the county this morning.
The unit stopped the car after ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) showed that the tax expired 555 days ago.
A check on the Garda Mobility App revealed that the motorist was disqualified from driving, as a result of accumulating 12 or more penalty points.
The car was seized at the scene and the driver was arrested and charged to appear before Portlaoise District Court.
