Laois Macra held its AGM on Monday 17 May. We would like to say well done and thank
you to the outgoing committee for all their hard work during the year.
Congratulations to the new committee for the following year, which consists of president
Helen Dempsey, chairperson Andrew Dunne, asst chairperson Liam Brophy, secretary Sheila
Fitzpatrick, asst secretary William Delaney, treasurer Stanley Seale, asst treasurer Aidan
Moore, PRO Julie Lupton, asst PRO TBC, agri affairs/YFDG chairperson Jamie Corcoran,
agri affairs/YFDG secretary Adrian Seale, competitions chairperson TBC, competitions
secretary TBC, development chairperson Liam Brophy, development secretary William
Delaney, sport and social officersSean Foyle and Damien Culliton, travel officer Aine
Heffernan, arts officer Mariead McEvoy, rural youth officers Liam Barton and Tony
Heffernan, IFA reps Jamie Corcoran and Paul Maher.
In the national online quiz, both Alex Ramsbottom (Camross Macra) and Andrew Dunne
(Mountmellick Macra) got to the final, where Andrew was runner-up.
Poc Fada
The county round was held at Spink GAA pitch on 23 May. Well done to all who took part.
Congratulations to Aedin Lowry in the women’s and Niall Cuddy in the men’s, both from
Camross Macra, and who will now represent Laois in the national finals in Kilkenny later this
Dairy stock judging
The Laois round of virtual dairy stock judging took place on Friday 28 May. Well done to all
who took part. Winners on the night were: U23 David Fennelly, Mountmellick Macra and
O23 Nora Cushen, Portlaoise Macra. Both will represent Laois next month.
