Mike Meaney died in a tragic accident in Spain

A VILLAGE community is in deep shock following the death of a young man in an accident in Spain.

The village of Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow, is devastated by news of the tragic death of Mike Meaney, following an accident in Spain last Monday 13 September. His death was announced today.

The young man from Rathvinden, Leighlinbridge was the adored son of his heartbroken parents Elaine and Des.

He is deeply mourned by his parents, uncles Gerry, Thos, Joe, Brendan and Danny, aunts Gaye and Mairead, uncles-in-law, aunts-in-law, cousins, relatives, kind neighbours and Mike’s many friends.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
