THE squads for Ireland U/18 Schools, Ireland U/18 Clubs and Schools and Ireland U/19 have been named ahead of three day camps planned for the 28-30 December at the IRFU’s High Performance Centre on the Sports Ireland Campus.
All four players started their rugby careers with Portlaoise RFC.
Portlaoise’s Richard Whelan, a student in CC Roscrea, has been named on the U/18 Schools squad.
James Conroy, also a student in CC Roscrea and also from Portlaosie, has been named on the U/18 Clubs and Schools squad.
Castletown’s Jim Peters and David Dooley from Rosenallis have been selected on the U/19 squad.
The squads attended camps in late October with the Ireland U/18 Clubs playing a fixture against their Italian counterparts in Treviso. A lot of these players would have featured in the PwC Underage Interprovincial Series in August while 15 players across the three squads were not involved in those series of games.
