It is going to be a busy Saturday for Laois players on the representative front.

Top of the list has to be Portlaoise RFC’s Emma Hooban who is again on the Irish women’s panel for their second test on their tour of Japan. Emma came off the bench last week to score a try in Ireland’s amazing 57-22 victory. Today’s game cam be watched live on TG4 starting at 10.40am.

She is joined on the panel by Leah Tarpey from Kilcavan and who plays her rugby in Tullamore.

On the provincial front Portlaoise RFC have no fewer than four players in action.

Sean Peters and Dylan Kelly are in the Leinster U/18 Clubs team to take on Connacht. This game is part of a Buccaneers doubleheader and kicks off at 1pm.

In the U/19’s game, which kicks off at 3.30pm, Adam Shirley (Kilkenny College) is on the panel.

Leinster U/18 girls head north to take on Ulster in the opening game in their competition. Koren Dunne, who stole many headlines last season, has been selected to start in the second row alongside Jane Neill (Arklow).

First of the semi-final places up for grabs
