The finished product. A Christmas Wreath on door

A Christmas Wreath in the making

Two Laois businesswomen have teamed up to offer a very quirky Christmas experience – wreath making in Laois’ very own ‘hobbit village’. Milliner, Niav Riley, and Glampsite owner, Kyra Fingleton, hope to raise as much-needed funds as possible for the Simon Community.

Niav, a talented craftswoman, began making Christmas wreaths for sale during lockdown. They were very popular, and, as Niav regularly offers creative classes, she has gone on to offer wreath-making workshops too.

She says: “It’s a lovely, creative way to take some time out in the run-up to Christmas. Whether you come by yourself, or with a friend, you’ll be creating something beautiful in cosy, festive surroundings.  It’s the perfect way to spend a happy couple of hours.”

Kyra adds: “In the summer, Niav comes to the glampsite to make flower crowns with our hen party groups – and they are stunning! I can’t wait to see the Christmas wreaths. We’ll have a roaring fire and the Christmas tree up in the Glamp House. It will be lovely”.

Hosted in the gorgeously Christmassy communal space at Glamping Under the Stars, each session includes everything you need to create a beautiful handmade Christmas wreath to hang on your door, or give as a gift.

Wreath making is €55 with tea, coffee and a festive treat included. And, in the spirit of Christmas, €5 from every booking will be donated to the Simon Community.
