THE wonderful achievements of two Laois ploughing champions were celebrated in Durrow, at a gala evening in honour of Pádraig Brandon and Jim Ryan.
It was a landmark year for both men at the memorable National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, where Jimmy won the Five Nations Reversible for Ireland and Pádraig won the Intermediate All-Ireland for Laois.
The celebration evening in The Castle Arms Hotel on 18 November was organised by the South Laois Ploughing Association, in conjunction with Laois County Ploughing Association.
See our two-page picture spread from the celebration in the next edition of the Laois Nationalist, in shops and online on Tuesday 6 December
