THERE was great news today for Laois ladies football with the announcement the Killeshin Hotel will sponsor all the Laois LGFA teams from this year. The newly agreement is for a three year period, starting in 2023 and running to end of the 2025 season and will cover U/14, U/16, Minor and Senior teams.

Laois LGFA’s Chairperson, Phil O’Keeffe said: “I wish to sincerely thank Pat and Una McDonagh and their team at the Killeshin Hotel, led by its General Manager, Philip Peake, for their generous sponsorship of all the Laois LGFA county teams. We are grateful for their support and for the opportunities it provides, to support the teams as they move into Championship mode.”

As part of the sponsorship agreement, teams will have access to the gym and pool facilities at the hotel which will assist with strength, conditioning and recovery programmes.

Supermac’s and Só Hotels MD, Pat McDonagh, said that the connection with Laois LGFA was one that he and the hotel were delighted to have.

“The Laois LGFA have had a hugely successful season last year and a very exciting year ahead of them and myself and Una are delighted to be in a position to help the teams,” he said.

“Laois is a very important part of what we do as company and we employ several hundred people in the county between the Killeshin Hotel, the Portlaoise Plaza and our Supermac’s outlets. We are proud sponsors of many women’s teams throughout the country and the continued success and promotion of women’s sports in general is something that we are delighted to be involved with.”

One of Six properties within the Só Hotel Group, The Killeshin Hotel is a Four Star hotel boasting 88 bedrooms, The Cedar Bar and Restaurant, 15 conference and meeting rooms, ballroom, extensive leisure facilities including 18m pool and ample free car parking on site.
